Hello and welcome to today’s edition of the AllCampgrounds blog.
Today’s trip brings us to hot, flat, sunny Arizona to visit one of the world’s greatest natural wonders: the Grand Canyon.
In certain areas you can actually pitch a tent inside the Canyon, which plunges almost a mile deep from its highest peak to its floor!
Most of the Canyon is encompassed by Grand Canyon National Park, which is one of the oldest, most developed, and most versatile national parks in the United States; comparable with the first, Yellowstone.

Hello, everybody, and welcome back to AllCampgrounds!
In this continuation to our “Camping for Everyone” series, we’ll talk about camping opportunities especially for writers and artists. Now, this might seem a little odd at first; why can’t these folks go camping anywhere? And, of course, they can. But one of our goals is to show non-campers that “special” camping experience for them, one that can help them proudly say that camping is a hobby. For those with a creative spirit, that opportunity is waiting! (more…)

Welcome to the Rockies! Today on AllCampgrounds, we’re headed to a new state to look at tent camping and RV camping in Colorado, especially around the Rocky Mountains.
Now, the Rockies are one of the most iconic ranges in the United States and stretch across five other states as well as parts of Canada, but because of the great diversity of Colorado’s natural landscape, the state plays host to one of the most lively and versatile camping scenes along the range.
This includes plenty of camp grounds to choose from through the year, with plenty of winter sports and beautiful summer hiking and climbing!

Hello, hello, hello! In today’s AllCampgrounds blog, we cross another state off our list by zooming out to the frozen tundra of Alaska!
Now, unless you’re an Eskimo, your goal will probably be to camp in what passes for summer in this icy region, but rest assured there’s phenomenal natural beauty for you to enjoy when you do.
There’s also some of the greatest trout fishing anywhere in the world.

Welcome back to AllCampgrounds. In today’s adventure, we’ll be seeking out the finest camp grounds for getting a glimpse of one of North America’s most storied natural wonders: Niagara Falls, which you can visit from New York or Ontario. These massive waterfalls account for thousands of feet of water movement per second, and offer some of the most striking natural vistas anywhere on the continent. Though I wouldn’t recommend going over them in a barrel, you’ll definitely want to go camping close by! (more…)

The Florida Everglades

Welcome to today’s AllCampgrounds blog. In this edition we’ll be exploring a topic near and dear to me, tent camping in Florida; specifically, camping opportunities in the fascinating Florida wetlands known as the Everglades. Home to the iconic Florida alligator, this “river of glass” encompasses miles of sawgrass prairie in the southern part of the state. A national park protects about a quarter of the total land, just over one and a half million acres, and provides fantastic camping opportunities. Other camp grounds can be found around Everglades City and Florida City, both nearby. (more…)

Aloha, everybody! On today’s AllCampgrounds blog we’ll be camping another of the 50 states as we look to get the low-down on all campsites in Hawaii. Tourists, surfers, and adventurers visit Hawaii’s pristine beaches every year to enjoy beautiful sand and crystal clear waves; but did you know there’s also a tent camping scene there? Amazing, but true; there are over a dozen sites around the Big Island, with several more dispersed across the rest of the land that makes up Hawaii. Now, I’m not going to lie to you; camping in Hawaii can be a tiny bit complicated. That’s why, as far as this post goes, I’m going to make sure you have all the info and resources you need to get started. (more…)

Could this be paradise?

Hello and good morning to all! Hope you’re ready and raring to go with more great camping info as we move on to a whole new frontier in campgrounds, Illinois.
This northern state is a little bit unusual in that almost three-fourths of the entire population lives in the northeast, principally around Chicago.
That leaves a great deal of this nearly 58,000 square mile landmass relatively sparse, and there are plenty of great places for tent camping, RV camping, and more dotted around the landscape. (more…)

Morning, all, and welcome back to the AllCampgrounds blog.
So far, we’ve seen California and Wyoming in our wanderings across this great nation. Now we’re headed south a piece to visit a state with some really BIG camp grounds: Texas, where they do everything big!
For our first trip through, I want to focus on RV camping Texas, a popular topic for visitors and state residents alike. Naturally, once we’ve taken a good look at that, we’ll hit on tent camping and other topics in the Lone Star State. Let’s saddle up! (more…)

Welcome one and all to AllCampgrounds, the best site on the web for info on camp grounds, nature travel, parks and more!
To kick off our journey through some of the greatest parks and camp grounds in the U.S., I thought we would visit the world famous Yellowstone Park.
Everybody has heard of it – it even inspired “Jellystone Park” of Yogi Bear fame – but do you know what makes it so special? You will after our virtual visit!
