Howdy, all!
Today’s AllCampgrounds is a quick note to make everyone aware of a phenomenon even I didn’t know about until I started writing for the blog: discount camping consortiums.
While not all campsites are associated with a discount organization, there are actually several membership groups throughout the U.S. and Canada that can offer welcome benefits to frequent campers at thousands of premium camp grounds for both tent camping and RV camping.

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of the AllCampgrounds blog.
Today’s trip brings us to hot, flat, sunny Arizona to visit one of the world’s greatest natural wonders: the Grand Canyon.
In certain areas you can actually pitch a tent inside the Canyon, which plunges almost a mile deep from its highest peak to its floor!
Most of the Canyon is encompassed by Grand Canyon National Park, which is one of the oldest, most developed, and most versatile national parks in the United States; comparable with the first, Yellowstone.

Hello, everybody, and welcome back to AllCampgrounds!
In this continuation to our “Camping for Everyone” series, we’ll talk about camping opportunities especially for writers and artists. Now, this might seem a little odd at first; why can’t these folks go camping anywhere? And, of course, they can. But one of our goals is to show non-campers that “special” camping experience for them, one that can help them proudly say that camping is a hobby. For those with a creative spirit, that opportunity is waiting! (more…)

Welcome to the Rockies! Today on AllCampgrounds, we’re headed to a new state to look at tent camping and RV camping in Colorado, especially around the Rocky Mountains.
Now, the Rockies are one of the most iconic ranges in the United States and stretch across five other states as well as parts of Canada, but because of the great diversity of Colorado’s natural landscape, the state plays host to one of the most lively and versatile camping scenes along the range.
This includes plenty of camp grounds to choose from through the year, with plenty of winter sports and beautiful summer hiking and climbing!

It can be done! Our handy guide will have your kids camping quick. (more…)

Welcome back to AllCampgrounds. In today’s adventure, we’ll be seeking out the finest camp grounds for getting a glimpse of one of North America’s most storied natural wonders: Niagara Falls, which you can visit from New York or Ontario. These massive waterfalls account for thousands of feet of water movement per second, and offer some of the most striking natural vistas anywhere on the continent. Though I wouldn’t recommend going over them in a barrel, you’ll definitely want to go camping close by! (more…)

All campsites should be set up with basic animal safety in mind, but if you’re tent camping in bear country, you need to be aware of some important precautions. Though bears are surprisingly gentle creatures, the American black bear can be six feet long and close to 500 pounds – and they’re the smaller ones. Also, not all bears hibernate, so camping in the winter is no guarantee your camp grounds can’t be visited by a bear.
That said, the danger from bears is often exaggerated and sensationalized. Lucky for us, bears aren’t “looking for trouble” any more than any other forest creature; and many, if not most, dangerous bear encounters are provoked by human behavior. Likewise, bear encounters can be minimized by human behavior. That’s where we come in.
